Designer Sebastian Herkner loves the skilful interplay of materials, surfaces and production techniques. He has succeeded in creating a design that is particularly captivating in this respect with the Falda vase developed for the Rosenthal studio-line. The simple, bulbous vase made from biscuit porcelain with its velvety surface and pleated, topquality collar with a golden titanium coating is reminiscent of Art Deco objects. However, the appearance of the collar is a digital interpretation of this time thanks to its precise folding. The collar surrounds and embellishes the floral arrangement in an unusual way. However, even without floral decoration, Falda is an object with plenty of style and character.

Junto - Glazing
Manufacture of the Junto collec- tion is subject to an extremely elaborate production process. All items are made with natural raw materials, and the glazing process, in particular, lends the collection its own distinctive style.
The porcelain glazing for Junto is a special development by Rosenthal. Instead of transparent glazing, all items are fired with colourful glazing which lends them their extraordinary colour. Depending on the thickness of the layer, the colour glazing lets the white porcelain shards shine through more or less strongly. This is how many different effects are created in the fired product’s appearance.
Based on this glazing technique, the signature Junto handglazed character is created, an intended crafted look with unique colour gradients, which is not a flaw in the product.
