With the concept of this series, Rosenthal and the designer Vittorio Passaro have gone a new way. The design originated not on paper, but from paper. It was not a drawing, but simply a strip of paper which was rolled around itself, and from the gestures which brought the shape into existence. Utilizing the paper’s design, “Papyrus” was made partially in unglazed porcelain to allow for the similarity in the surfaces and structures.
